A couple of weeks ago, I was present for one of the most amazing experiences of my life, the beginnings of a family. It was just as moving to me as the birth of my own children. For Brian and Jennifer, it was the end of a long journey and beautiful, baby, Payton was the realization of a dream. I love this image because Jennifer is so still during labor, while Brian and the doula swirl around her.

I first met Mercedes about a decade ago. She was a precocious little girl that tagged along behind one of my dearest friends, her Godmother. Well, it's been awhile since I've seen her and she's all grown up now! I was so fortunate to spend the afternoon with some old friends making some new memories. I can't wait to see what Mercedes is going to do with the next ten years.

The Jones family booked a very special shoot with me a couple of weeks ago. It was not just the Jones' but the in-laws and grandparents to boot! Three generations and four grandchildren were represented. We were shooting in one of my favorite venues, Antioch Park and it was chilly fall morning but both the family and the light was beautiful.

I shot my first wedding over the weekend. The groom has been a personal friend of mine for almost 20 years and my family photographer. When he asked me to share this day with him and his lovely bride, I jumped at the chance. I wish Clyde and Valerie all the best on this new chapter of their lives. I wish them all the joy and happiness this world can provide.

I was fortunate enough to be the photographer for a very important engagement this past weekend. Ok. I know all engagements are important but this one was especially sweet because the groom is my friend of nearly 20 years and my family's personal photographer. His bride-to-be is as lovely as she appears in the pictures and the chemistry between these two was electric! Ah... love....

This past weekend I was called out to take pictures of two of the sweetest little boys. Meet the Grove brothers. You might remember them from last fall in Baldwin, Kansas. Well, this time we met at one of my favorite locations, Lake Miola right outside of Paola Kansas. We climbed trees, picked flowers, skipped stones and took loads of pictures. Thank you Grove family for bringing me along.

I took Carrie and her crew out to the ballfield to shoot some family photos. They're Royals fans so I thought this would be a fun location. It was.
